🎃 A Spooky (and Protein-Packed) Halloween Feast with Tarwi

Who says Halloween is just about candy and scars? This year, we're serving up thrills for your taste buds , Tarwi style! From Spiderweb Pancakes to FrankenLummus and Brownie Spiders , our Halloween menu is packed with chicken charm, delicious flavor, and a powerful plant-based protein boost.

So grab your cauldron (or your blender 🧙♀️), and get ready to whip up a hauntingly healthy feast that's so good, it's scary!


Spider Web Pancakes

🕒 Total time: 15 min

🥞 Makes 8 pancakes

🍴 Serves: 4

🥞Ingredients for the Pancakes:

  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup More Than Protein: Vanilla
  • 1 cup of milk of your choice
  • 2 eggs

🍫 Ingredients for the Spider Web:

  • 2 tbsp more than protein: rich cocoa
  • 1 tbsp (+ more if needed) of milk of choice

🥣 Method:

1. In a bowl, whisk together all the ingredients of the pancakes ingredients to form a smooth batter.

2. Put a large non-stick frying pan on medium heat. Once warm, spoon a large tablespoon of pancake batter into the pan.

3. Cook on each side for 3-4 minutes until golden before turning and cooking on the other side for 2-3 minutes.


4. Repeat until the pancake mixture is finished.


5. To make the spider web frosting, whisk together the cocoa protein and milk until thick. Use a piping bag or resealable bag and cut the corner to create the spider web design.

Note: For a plant-based version, replace the eggs with 2 tbsp of flaxseed soil and 6 tbsp of water. Let it sit for 5 minutes until gooey, then add the mixture to the battery, replacing the eggs in step 1.


Frankenlummus

🕒 Total time: <5 min

🍴 Serves: 4-6

🌱Ingredients:

  • 1 pack of Lummus & Basil
  • Blue Tortilla Chips

🥣 Method:
1. Add the Lummus & Basil to a small bowl and serve with blue tortilla chips.

Ghost Toast

🕒 Total time: <5 min

🍴 Serves you: 1 slice of toast


🌱 Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp Lummus Sun-dried Tomato
  • 1 Tbsp Lummus Original
  • 1 slice of bread, toasted
  • Olives (sliced, for ghost eyes)


🥣 Method:

1. Toast the bread and spread the Lummus in the form of ghosts. Add the sliced ​​olives to make the ghost eyes.

Lummusween

🕒 Total time: 5 min

🍴 Serves: 4-6

🌱Ingredients:

  • 1 pack of Lummus Original
  • Carrots, peeled and sliced ​​in sticks
  • Crackers of your choice
  • Mayo for the spider web


🥣 Method:
1. Start by swirling the mayo on top of the Lummus, and then make the spider web with a toothpick.
2. Add your favorite vegetables and crackers to serve.

Skull Pasta

🕒 Total time: 20 min

🍴 Serves: 4

🌱Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 300g spaghetti
  • 150g shimeji mushrooms
  • 50g shiitake mushrooms
  • 100g white mushroom (for the skulls)
  • 1 pack of Lummus Original
  • 1/4 onion, peeled and sliced
  • Pinch of salt and black pepper
  • 1/2 cup Pasta water or warm water

🥣 Method:
1. Patiently carve your mushrooms into a skull form. Create the “eyes” with a straw, then carve the teeth with the paring knife. Set aside.
2. Place a pan over medium heat and a drizzle of olive oil. Once warm, add the mushrooms (shiitake and shimeji) and a sprinkling of salt. Cook for about 10 minutes until the mushrooms reduce in size and soften.
3. Once soft, add the onion. Mix well and cook with the onion is translucent.
4. While the mushroom cook, cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain (reserving a little of the pasta water) and mix through the mushroom mixture.
5. Add the Lummus and a dash of the pasta water to the mushroom mixture. Mix well and cook for a few more minutes until creamy texture.
6. In a separate pan cook the skull mushrooms until golden.
7. Once everything has heated through, serve the pasta with the skull mushrooms and some black pepper sprinkled on top.


*We use white mushrooms for the skulls and shiitake and shimeji mushrooms for the sauce.

Spiderweb Brownies

🕒 Preparation time: 5 min

🕒 Baking time: 25 min

🍴 Serves: 16 squares


🍫Ingredients:

  • 2 large lucky bananas, mashed
  • 250g creamy peanut butter
  • 85g honey
  • 1 egg
  • 25g More Than Protein: Intense Cocoa
  • 2 teaspoons of cooking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of instant coffee

Topping:

  • 2-4 tablespoons yogurt of your choice
  • 1 tablespoon More Than Protein: Vanilla

🥣 Method:

1. Mix all the brownie ingredients together until you have a creamy, smooth batter. Pour into a square baking tin, greased with butter or lined with baking paper.

2. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.

3. Leave the brownie to cool for 15 minutes in the tin.

4. Mix the yoghurt with the vanilla protein powder and place the mixture in a plastic bag (or piping bag) to decorate the brownie.

5. Decorate the brownie with a spider web design and enjoy!

Pumpkin Protein Balls

🕒 Cooling time: about 30 minutes

🍴 Serves: 9 scoops


🍫Ingredients:

  • 120g pumpkin puree
  • 100g peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 60 g more than Protein: Vanilla (or Unflavoured)
  • 30 g flour (oat, almond or other of your choice)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • pinch of salt
  • Chocolate chips or chunks (for the 'stems')
  • String (to create the pumpkin markings)


🥣 Method:

1. In a medium bowl, mix the pumpkin purée, peanut butter and vanilla extract until you have a creamy, smooth mixture.

2. Add the protein powder, flour, cinnamon, and salt. Mix well until you have a moldable dough.

3. If the mixture is too dry, add a little milk (plant-based or regular), one teaspoon at a time, until you reach the right consistency.

4. Shape into small balls and place them on a plate or tray lined with baking paper.

5. Use a piece of string to press lightly around each ball, creating the 'wrinkles' of the pumpkins.

6. Stick a chocolate chip or piece of chocolate on top of each ball to make the 'stem'.

7. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to solidify.
